Established since the early 1970s, textile-art presents antique textiles which express the highest and purest forms of this art, and curates exhibitions and private collections. EXHIBITIONS Following the recent highly successful exhibition of Classical Chinese Carpets, 1400-1750 at the Museum of East Asian Art in Cologne, we curated two exhibitions for the Sakip Sabanci Museum in Istanbul, 19 April to 19 August 2007: Anatolian Rugs in Transylvanian Churches, 1500-1750, and Kaitag, Textile Art from Daghestan. BOOKS Textile & Art Publications, founded in 1993, is building a varied list of art books covering a wide variety of subjects, from Buddhist and Islamic art, through Pre-Columbian and medieval art. The books, which are generously illustrated, with informative texts written by the foremost authorities, present some of the most exciting aspects of these subjects. |
